Conducting

From the Orchestra to the Podium

My path to conducting is unconventional—and that's precisely what defines my approach.

After 15+ years as an orchestral violinist, performing over 50 operas, 50 operettas, and the core symphonic repertoire from Baroque to the 21st century, I bring a perspective few conductors possess: I know what the orchestra needs from the podium.

Having worked with 350+ conductors—from legendary maestros to emerging talents—I've observed what inspires musicians, what creates clarity, and what builds trust. This foundation, combined with my experience as Artistic Operations Director, gives me a rare combination: artistic intuition meets organizational precision.

My Approach

I don't dictate—I inspire.

My years in the orchestra taught me that great music-making happens when musicians feel heard, respected, and empowered. I lead like a leader, not like a boss—guiding the ensemble with clarity and vision while trusting their artistry.

My management background ensures efficient rehearsals, clear communication, and respect for everyone's time—qualities orchestras deeply appreciate.

Repertoire

Through my orchestral career and conducting engagements, I've developed comprehensive knowledge across:

Opera & Operetta:

  • 50+ opera productions (Wagner, Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini)

  • 50+ operetta productions

  • Extensive experience in both pit and concert performances

Symphonic Repertoire:

  • Baroque to 21st century

  • Core symphonic works: Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Mahler, Brahms, Dvořák, Tchaikovsky.

  • Concerto repertoire: piano, violin, cello concertos

    Opera Experience

As musical assistant and rehearsal conductor, I prepared productions at Festspiele Erl under renowned conductors:

    • Guillaume Tell (Rossini) – Conductor: Michael Güttler

    • L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti) – Conductor: Sesto Quatrini

    • Ermione (Rossini) – Conductor: Gustav Kuhn

    • Parsifal (Wagner) – Conductor: Gustav Kuhn

This experience provided invaluable insight into operatic preparation, rehearsal technique, and the art of building productions from the ground up.
